After moving to Houston in 2013, Aaron jumped right into Texas politics by joining the Bay Area New Democrats and volunteering for the Wendy Davis for Governor campaign the following year. He attended the Texas Democratic Party's convention as a delegate in 2018, where he learned about campaign finance and compliance reporting, which shaped his understanding of the mechanisms that set the party platform. This experience reinforced his belief that one must always advocate for their cause, position, or candidate, regardless of whether they represent majority or minority voices.
In 2019, Aaron attended the Victory Institute Candidate and Campaign training, further enhancing his skills in managing political campaigns. After a brief hiatus from Texas during the pandemic, he rejoined the Houston LGBTQ+ Political Caucus and took on the role of treasurer in 2023, a position he will hold through 2025, where he continues to support marketing solutions for the organization's initiatives.
In the community, Aaron actively volunteers with the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce and The Executive and Professional Association of Houston (EPAH).
Professionally, outside his political work, Aaron serves as the Community Marketing Manager for OutSmart Magazine and the OutSmart Foundation for LGBTQ News and Media. He has a background in the industrial automation, energy, and manufacturing sectors, where he worked as an engineer and product marketing manager.
Aaron holds an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
